Barking in the Night, A Christmas Tradition

Sadly enough, Ella waking up in the middle of the night struggling to breath due to a terrible barking cough is becoming a Jolly Family Tradition. The same thing happened last year and this year was no different. Monday morning (December 19th) around 6:45am (and of course I had stayed up until 1am the night before wrapping presents), Ella came in our room struggling for a breath and sounding like a seal. I knew immediately that she had croup and we just needed to calm her down so we could take her to the doctors to get a steroid. Once we got her calmed down, she tried to sleep a little bit more in my bed, but she had the hardest time getting a full breath. So she and I got dressed and ready for the day. The waiting room was packed, and it took us forever see the doctor so we could get her needed medicine. Luckily, Jason was able to work from home that day so I could leave Colin with him.
One happy little girl when we got home from the doctors
I love that she stays so happy even when she is sick
Playing with her new toy that Grandpa sent for her birthday
Wearing the Memphis Tigers hat Jason's grandparent sent
Hey, Sissy! Don't give me any yucky croup germs! (so tough)
