Jason had promised Ella that he would take her fishing at the beach, and she was so excited!! She kept talking about the different things they would catch. She said that if they caught a shark or a big fish, they would have to throw it back. She told us she only wanted to catch little fish. On the first day we were at the beach, Jason took Ella to buy a fishing pole and some gear. So on Friday, we were ready to head to the beach to try out the new equipment. I am not a fisher-woman, so I was letting Jason handle this adventure 100%. I was there to take pictures and help wrangle the kids. To be honest, Ella's interest in fishing waxed and waned. She liked the idea and sat with Jason for a little bit. But she really just wanted to play in the sand and water. I let Colin wear his swim shoes on the beach this time and that helped him be a little more stable on the uneven sand. He had a blast walking around and playing with the sand toys (though he never sat down...even on the blanket....he definitely does not like having sand on him). After a while, I took him to the water's edge so he could put his feet in the Gulf. After that it was game over, this boy might not like the sand but he LOVES the water!!! He loved feeling the waves on his legs. He kept saying "Whoa!! Wa-wa!!" The few times he has gone to the beach, he has always loved getting in the water. Jason even took him way out into the water last year. I can tell he will want to do that again this year. I couldn't get any pictures of him playing in the water because Jason was fishing and I was busy trying to keep Colin safe (I was afraid the undertow would get him). Oh but it was a great memory! He was soaking wet and loving it!!

When Jas said he was taking Ella fishing I said she would maybe sit still for 3 minutes max.
