Super Bowl Sunday

We spend Super Bowl Sunday with the kids. Ella and I ran some errands and grabbed Firehouse Subs for lunch. Jason and Colin spent some male-bonding time together. My brother came over for the afternoon to hang out. Unfortunately, I didn't snap any pictures when he was around, but we had a lot of fun with him. Jason and Roger kicked the soccer ball and threw the baseball in our yard while the kids played; it was a beautiful day so we were happy to be outside.

Ella found a hole in our driveway and when she stuck a stick in it, she found mud. She then spent the rest of our outside time making cave drawings--haha:)
Before the game started, we decided to take the kids on a walk down to our neighborhood playground. The kids always have tons of fun here. Colin insists on doing everything by himself. I am comfortable with him doing the little playground by himself. However, he barely lets us help him on the big playground, and that makes me a bit nervous. The only part that he will let you hold his hand is on the wooden bridge. He did let Jason hold his hand the first two times down the big slide, but after that he was determined to go down by himself (I catch him at the bottom or else he would fly off the end). Such an independent little boy!

So these next pictures are not from Super Bowl Sunday, but there is a funny story that goes along with this post. The next day, Jason was playing with Colin outside while I was getting dinner together. He said Colin went into our garage and climbed into the double stroller by himself. Jason opened the door and told me that Colin must want to go on a walk. I knew Colin had climbed in the stroller because he wanted to go back to the playground--haha! So I put the dinner on hold, and we had another family evening at the playground. This boy knows what he wants!

So cute! i love that he parked himself in the stroller wanting to go back to the playground. I bet you all love having that right within walking distance. :-)
